BILA HOUSE
Avalon, Australia
2025
Bila House is an architectural residence that redefines the concept of sustainable living through design, innovation, and environmental awareness. Located in Avalon, New South Wales, the house is the result of a collaboration between architect Silvester Fuller and designer Jamie Durie, giving shape to a project of strong conceptual and formal value.
Entirely off-grid and environmentally sensitive, Bila House stands as an advanced study of how contemporary architecture can exist in harmony with nature rather than in opposition to it.
The interiors reflect the same vision: essential, refined spaces conceived to endure over time. The use of natural materials plays a central role and finds its fullest expression in the Riva1920 furnishings designed by Jamie Durie, particularly within the Bungalow Collection. This collaboration was intentionally conceived to ensure continuity in a fully holistic sustainable approach, where design, materiality, and environmental responsibility converge in a coherent language.
The project also highlights the versatility of the Bungalow Collection, which seamlessly adapts to both indoor and outdoor settings simply through variations in textiles and wood types, while preserving the product’s identity and its dialogue with the architecture.
