FABIO DI BARTOLOMEI
Born in Udine. In 1979 he founded his own design agency “DI BARTOLOMEI DESIGN AGENCY” based in the same city. He later established international collaborations which led to the creation of the related offices in New York, Brendale Brisbane Qld (AU).
He deals with Industrial & Strategic design, Interior design, Corporate Image, Architecture and Exhibition Stands Design. Design exhibitions dedicated to him have been set up, both in Italy and abroad and some of his projects have been selected and exhibited in museums including: “The Museum of Modern Art, the “MOMA” in New York, and at “The Cornig Museum of Glass” in Cornig-NY (USA).
Furthermore, in 2004 his work was included in the prestigious Design Encyclopedia “The Museum of Modern Art Design Encyclopedia” published by the MoMa in New York.
Director of the Italian Design School, former design teacher in various universities including those of Udine, Trieste, ISIA Roma Design, Adriatic Nautical Academy Trieste, Accademy of F.A. Verona, during his career, has designed numerous objects ranging
from: chairs, furniture, accessories, lamps, objects, jewellery, pens, electronic instruments, boats, machinery, over 200 products entered into production.
In the boat sector, in particular, he designed the new Vaporetti for the city of Venice; boats with a highly innovative design already launched and currently sailing. Numerous awards have been won by projects he designed for some of the most qualified industries in various sectors.
Research into materials has always been the fundamental point, the basis from which to start, for his projects.
In the publishing sector, he holds several design columns in some well-known magazines.
