Malgeri & Origoni

Multi-functional stool made from a single block of aromatic cedar. Can be used as a high stool, single armchair, armchair with wider seat or a small table. The products are made from completely natural wood, hand-finished without the addition of any treatment. Movements, cracks and changes in the appearance of the wood are intrinsic characteristics of these items and result from the natural settlement and diverse environmental conditions.

Malgeri & Origoni

Andrea Malgeri and Matteo Origoni have been friends for many years and they share a passion for industrial design and architecture.

It is thanks to this bond that, while working independently, they have decided to collaborate in the design of some experimental furnishing products including the modular system of ceramic vases VAGO (McTerracotte) and the multifunctional seat in cedar 3D6 (Riva 1920).

Andrea Malgeri was born in Genoa in 1973 and graduated in architecture at the University of Genoa in April 2002.

He worked for the Plan Design at the Renzo Piano Building Workshop of Genoa, dedicating himself to industrial design and interior design, following the design in its various stages of conception, from production of scale models up to the engineering and prototyping.

Today the collaboration continues freelancing with RPBW Genoa for exhibitional productions and restoration models, and he simultaneously launched a study in the center of Genoa continuing his various activities.

Matteo Aldo Origoni was born in 1978, and graduated in 2003 in architecture at the Technical Institute of Milan. In 2007 he obtained the title of "European Official Master" in Theory and Practice of Architecture at the Faculty of Barcelona PFC.

Between 2004 and 2011 he collaborated as an architect in several studies in Italy and abroad. Furthermore during these years, he also worked with Origoni Steiner on the production of some travelling exhibitions in Italy, USA, China and Japan, and carried out architectural works and furnishing products in collaboration with other young architects.

In 2013 he was reported by the "Lombardy Regional Council of Architectural Orders" among the best Italian architects "under 40" for the private home "Ribelles", in Spain. Today he works with Origoni Steiner continuing to work in design at different scales.
