Small tables in solid scented cedar machined from a single block, characterised by its sinuous and symmetrical lines.The products are made from completely natural, hand-finished wood without the addition of any treatment. Any movements, cracks and changes in the appearance of the wood are intrinsic characteristics of these items and result from the natural settlement and diverse environmental conditions of the wood.


Simone Micheli


Simone Micheli founded the Architectural Studio of the same name in 1990 and in 2003 the design company “Simone Micheli Architectural Hero” with headquarter in Florence, Milan and Dubai. He is a teacher at the Poli.Design and at the ”Scuola Politecnica di Design” of Milano. His professional activity articulates in many directions: from architecture to interior architecture, from design to visual design crossing the communication branch; his creations, sustainable and always attentive to the environment, are characterized by big identity and uniqueness. He made many projects for public administration and for important private residences connected to the residential world and the community. His work was presented in the most important international exhibition shows and held conference and lectio magistralis at universities, cultural institutes, authorities in various cities in the world. Many publications and interviews are on Italian and international magazines. The last monograph “Simone Micheli From the Future to the Past”, published in 2012, represents a selection of 20 years of his design.

These articles are entirely made in solid scented cedar wood. Any movement in the wood, little cracks and changes that might occur over time cannot be considered grounds for complaint as they are due not to imperfections in the material but rather to a natural settling of the wood

in reaction to various environmental conditions.
Similarly the possible appearance of marks or little patches of mould on the surface of the product is a perfectly normal reaction by solid wood in particular to prolonged periods of storage in transport packing.

Should such problems occur we ask you to undertake the following actions using the maintenance kit:

1) use the brush supplied to remove any traces of mould.
2) wash the parts previously worked on with water.
3) leave the article to dry in a dry and well aired place.

A typical characteristic of the items realized in solid cedar is the possible leakage of the resin that is naturally contained inside the wood, especially on the bottom of the product. Please be informed that, in order to avoid problems of spots or absorption of resin contained into solid cedar, we kindly suggest You not to locate items in cedarwood on carpets or soft surfaces which do not allow the ventilation of the bottom part of the item, especially in the first months from the purchasing. We suggest to keep them in a dry and good ventilated place.

Natural Living

Each purchaser that buys a Riva 1920 product will receive as a gift a small plant, upon request, to return the favour to nature that originally produced the wood used for the production of the piece of furniture purchased.
