Enzo Mari was born in Novara in 1932 , working in different directions while keeping as a reference the reflection on shape and design. This activity began in the fifties with the research on visual perception, he is among the exponents of Programmed and Kinetic. Parallel to this artistic research through a formal individual, he began his career as a designer, also dealing with graphic design and architecture.
He has held courses at different schools and universities in Europe.
He is member of the " Research Center and Communication Archive" in Parma, with about nine thousand original drawings.
For his work of research and design he has been conferred with various awards including four "Compasso d'Oro" .
He participated in the International Art Biennale of Venice. He has made several exhibitions, including: The work at the center, Centre d'Art Santa Monica, Barcelona in 1999, then moved to Milan Triennale in 2000 and recently completed the largest exhibition Enzo Mari The Art of Design, Galleria Civica Modern Art and Contemporary Art, Turin in 2008.
Examples of his works and design objects are part of important collections in museums such as the MOMA in New York and the Musée du Louvre in Paris.
