Design D'Urbino & Lomazzi
Donato D'Urbino and Paolo Lomazzi work together in the design of architectures, objects, equipment, furniture and in the field of city planning, collaborating with some of the most famous Italian companies.
The architectural Studio was founded in 1966, with the architect Jonathan De Pas and it’s called "Studio De Pas, D'Urbino, Lomazzi". The architect De Pas died in 1991.
The design activity joins to the theoretical and cultural one. They participate in several Juries of competitions, the Council of the Order of Architects of the Province of Milan (for the period 1993-94), the Building Commission of the City of Milan from 1997 to 1999 and held a number of educational activities, such as the teaching at the Polytechnic of Milan from 1999 to 2008, the University IUAV of Venice from 2005 to 2011 and at the ISAI Design Academy of Vicenza.
The production of the architectural Studio is in histories of Italian design and in major international publications on architectural and industrial design.
There are many works in the permanent design collections in various museums all over the world and have been selected for traveling exhibitions on Italian design.
Among the won awards and accolades there are the Compasso d'Oro-1979 Milan, BIO 7-1977 Ljubljana and BIO 9-1981 Ljubljana, the Design Award Winner - Hannover 1998, the Wallpaper Design Awards "Best Domestic Design" 2009.
